Billing, Refunds & Cancellation Policy

The Goodwill Network (“TGN”, “we”, “us”) · Last updated: July 21, 2026

This policy explains how paid subscriptions, add-on purchases, plan changes, failed payments, cancellations and refunds work on The Goodwill Network platform (the freelancer and producer apps). It should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. All payments are processed by Razorpay, our RBI-regulated payment partner.

01Pricing and GST

All prices shown in the apps and on our pricing page are in Indian Rupees and are GST-inclusive — the sticker price is the final amount you pay. Our GST registration details appear on every receipt.

Current plan pricing is always the version shown on our pricing page and inside the app at the time of purchase. We may revise pricing for future billing periods with prior notice; price changes never apply retroactively to a period you have already paid for.

02Signing up — subscription required, no free trial

An active paid subscription is required to use The Goodwill Network. Choosing a plan and paying for it is the final step of signup — your account is activated once the payment succeeds, and app access begins then. There is no free trial.

If a signup payment fails or is interrupted, no subscription starts and nothing is charged; you can complete the payment from the Subscription page to activate your account.

Founding members only (pre-launch invite programme): holders of a founding-member invite code who redeemed it during our pre-launch phase received a one-time 90-day free run on the top tier of their app, followed by a 30-day grace window. Subscribing to any plan within that window retains the lifetime founding perk: an additional 5% off annual plans, for life. If the grace window passes without a subscription, founding status and the perk lapse permanently. This programme was limited to pre-launch invitees and is not available to new signups after public launch.

03Subscriptions and auto-renewal

Plans are billed as auto-renewing subscriptions (monthly or annual) through a Razorpay payment mandate (card, UPI Autopay or eMandate, as offered at checkout).

By subscribing you authorise recurring charges under RBI's e-mandate framework. Razorpay sends a pre-debit notification before each charge, as required by RBI.

Annual plans above ₹15,000: RBI rules require additional factor authentication (AFA — typically a bank OTP) for such charges. Your bank may ask you to approve each annual renewal; if the approval doesn't happen, the renewal is treated as a failed payment (Section 6).

04Plan changes (upgrades, downgrades, billing-period switches)

Upgrades take effect immediately. You pay only the difference for the remainder of your current period as a one-time charge (shown before you confirm); your existing usage and purchases carry over. Your subscription then renews on the new plan.

Downgrades and switches to a shorter billing period take effect at the end of the current paid period. You keep your current plan until then. No refunds are made for the unused part of the current period.

One-time re-authorisation on plan changes: under RBI mandate rules, an existing payment mandate cannot simply be moved to a different plan amount. When you schedule a plan change, we set up the new plan to start automatically when your current period ends and ask you to authorise it once (“Authorise now” in the app). Nothing is charged at authorisation; the first charge on the new plan happens on its start date. If the new plan is not authorised in time, your current plan simply ends on its scheduled date and you can subscribe afresh.

Downgrading with more active work than the lower plan allows: nothing is deleted. Existing active productions/agreements are grandfathered; you just can't start new ones until you are within the lower plan's limits.

05Add-on purchases (credits and production slots)

Add-ons are one-time purchases, charged immediately at the price shown for your current plan, and are non-refundable once granted.

Freelancer agreement credits are account-level and never expire — they roll over until used and survive plan changes.

Producer agreement credits are purchased for a specific production. They never expire while that production is active, but any unused purchased credits are forfeited when that production is marked complete (the app warns you before you confirm).

Additional production slots (Like a Boss plans) never expire; a purchased slot remains usable even after a later downgrade.

06Failed payments, grace period and suspension

If a renewal charge fails, Razorpay automatically retries it. Your access continues during a grace period of 72 hours (monthly plans) or 7 days (annual plans) from the first failed charge — however, no fresh monthly usage allowance is granted until a successful payment.

If payment isn't collected by the end of the grace period, the subscription is suspended and feature access pauses until you renew or update your payment method.

Suspension never locks you out of your own data: your profile, settings and existing agreements and invoices remain accessible (see Section 9).

07Cancellation

You can cancel anytime from the Subscription page in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — you keep full access until then. No refunds are made for the remaining period.

Cancelling stops all future charges. Razorpay confirms mandate cancellation separately.

Founding members who cancel keep their lifetime founding perk and can re-subscribe at founding-annual pricing later.

08Refunds

Except where required by law, all payments are final and non-refundable — including subscription charges, upgrade difference charges and add-on purchases. This is why downgrades and cancellations apply at period end rather than triggering partial refunds.

We will always refund duplicate or erroneous charges (e.g. a technical double-charge). Contact us within 30 days of the charge; verified amounts are refunded to the original payment method within 7–10 business days of processing.

Statutory rights under Indian consumer-protection law remain unaffected.

09Your data after suspension or cancellation

In line with India's DPDP Act, payment status gates features, not your data. Whatever your subscription state, you can always sign in to view your profile, account settings, and your existing agreements and invoices, exercise your data rights, or delete your account.

10Receipts

A GST-compliant receipt is issued for every successful charge (delivered by email via Razorpay). Contact us if you need a receipt re-sent.

11Contact & grievances

Billing questions, refund requests for erroneous charges, or disputes: support@thegoodwill.network. We aim to respond within 3 business days. Grievance redressal follows the process described in our Terms of Service.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes are notified in-app or by email and apply from your next billing event. The version on this page is the current one.
