Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about agreements, invoices and the Goodwill Score, for freelancers, producers and the clients who sign with them.

What is The Goodwill Network?

A platform that turns verbal deals (spoken promises, WhatsApp threads, email chains and handshakes) into signed, binding agreements. For every creative freelancer in India and the producers and clients who hire them. Agreements, GST-correct invoices, bookings, projects, tasks and a portable Goodwill Score, in one place.

Is it only for film and advertising people?

No. Freelancers across 260+ roles use the same engine. Designers, writers, photographers, editors, influencers, content creators, developers, musicians, marketers and more (see the full list on our Roles page). The producer side is deliberately fine-tuned for advertising production, because that’s where hiring at crew scale happens, but the freelancer side is built for the whole freelancer community.

Does my client need an account to sign the agreement?

No, never. Your client receives the agreement as an email link, reviews it, and signs with a one-time password. No signup, no app. You can then invoice them from the same engagement. The entire deal runs end-to-end even if your client has never heard of The Goodwill Network.

Is a signed agreement legally binding?

Yes. Binding, and built to prove it. Every agreement is executed electronically under the Information Technology Act, 2000. Each signer’s identity is OTP-verified, the exact document is fingerprinted with a SHA-256 hash, and a timestamped signing certificate recording who signed, how, and when is attached to the final PDF. You don’t just get a “yes”, you get the evidence.

Do you take a cut of my fee?

No. The Goodwill Network never touches the money between you and your client. No commissions, no payment float. You pay a flat subscription; your fee is yours.

What does it cost?

See our plans page for current pricing. One thing that won’t change: the price you see is the price you pay. We absorb the GST on our own fees.

What is the Goodwill Score?

After each completed engagement, both sides rate the experience. Payment and brief clarity on one side, quality and timeliness on the other. Those ratings roll into a 0–100 Goodwill Score that’s slow to build, easy to lose, and impossible to buy: only people you’ve actually worked with, one review per signed deal. It’s reputation with memory; and it’s yours.

What happens if a deal goes wrong?

You’ll have what most freelancers never do: a signed agreement, an invoice trail, and an audit certificate. The platform includes dispute reporting, and Legal Help: a free, good-faith referral to independent law firms. The Goodwill Network earns nothing from it; it exists so no user is ever stranded.
